Bafana Bafana resumed training on Monday, 12 January after giving the players a rest on Sunday (11 January). This was following their 1-1 draw in the international friendly match against Cameroon on Saturday, 10 January at the Stade de L’amitie in Libreville, Gabon. Three players got knocks from that clash and were rested at training but are all expected to be back in action soon. “Tokelo Rantie sustained a strained muscle and we are resting him as a precaution, it is nothing serious. He is receiving physiotherapy and we will reassess him tomorrow (Tuesday, 13 January). It is nothing to worry about though. Rivaldo Coetzee sustained a knock on the knee and is also being rested as a precaution, so even there we don’t need to worry. Parker got a knock on the ribs and we are treating him also so he can recover but it’s also nothing too serious,” said Bafana Bafana Team Medico, Doctor Thulani Ngwenya. “However, Parker might not recover in time for the Mali match and we would rather play safe and have him sit out that match than aggravate his injury. The other two will be available to play but it will be up to the coaches whether they want to play them or not.” Bafana Bafana will face Mali in the final preparations match ahead of the CAF Orange Africa Cup of Nations Equatorial Guinea 2015 tournament which starts later in the week (17 January to 8 February). The Mali clash will be played on Wednesday, 14 January at the Monedan Stadium in Libreville, Gabon. Kickoff is at 17h00 South African time. Meanwhile goalkeeper Darren Keet is expected back in camp tonight (Monday, 12 January) after going to be with his wife in Belgium following the birth of their first child, Leighton Wade Keet. Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba will only arrive in Libreville on Tuesday night after he was named as a replacement for his injured club-mate Patrick Phungwayo who has since returned to South Africa to treat his injury. Gcaba underwent a medical assessment today, as required by tournament rules and regulations and also went to get his visa to be able to travel.
