Bahrains new-look Cabinet has two main priorities “ ensuring decent living conditions for citizens and consolidating security and stability. Bahrain remained stable despite the turmoil and upheavals in the region, His Majesty King Hamad said yesterday, as he chaired the first Cabinet meeting following the oath-taking ceremony at Sakhir Palace. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, were present. Addressing the session, the King wished the new-look Cabinet every success in serving the nation and citizens. He paid tribute to outgoing ministers, hailing their contributions. You are about to start work in tandem with the legislative authority in the fourth term to achieve decent living conditions for citizens, His Majesty said. He advised Cabinet members to embark on field work to be close to citizens and gauge their needs. His Majesty urged constructive co-operation with the legislative branch of government to build on achievements and ensure more national gains. The Premier took pride in the Kings trust, and pledged that the Cabinet would work as a team and muster all energies to live up to His Majestys confidence and translate his directives and visions on the ground. The Premier also said that the government would devote all its efforts to bring about more achievements and attain development and progress for the kingdom and its people. The Premier affirmed that the Cabinet would rise up to political and economic challenges, prepare its work plan for the future, and build bridges of co-operation and trust with the legislative branch to increase landmark national achievements. Earlier, His Majesty received at Sakhir Palace the Premier, who introduced members of the Cabinet, in the presence of the Crown Prince. The Premier, the Deputy Premiers and ministers took their oath before the King.
