Bair Foundation. Amy and I are organizing a non for profit to provide non recourse loans to litigants. I have about 500-600 trial lawyers who are good friends, who have good cases, and I have watched their clients for over a decade be taken advantage of by pre-settlement funding companies. I want to attack this status quo and create a sustainable model of funding from investors who would be happy with a secure 7/8 percent return, and the peace of mind of doing something good in society. I havent decided on Kickstarter or other fundraising methods yet, but welcome any and all feedback. The goal? Become a shining light in a dark and unregulated marketplace. Fund plaintiffs so they can survive litigation in dignity, and borrow at no more than 10 percent a year. Whos with us? Who has Non Profit experience?
