Our client needs a level-headed Supervisor to oversee a volume baking program, and two satellite espresso / GrabnGo operations. The position is part of the Front of House Operations team, with additional input from the Executive Chef. This excellent Midwest University campus has extremely high standards. The student experience is a high priority, from academics to dining. Food quality is excellent, with service standards that match. A great entry level management position. Responsibilities include: •overseeing the bakery production program, •assistance managing & developing cafe staff (FOH & BOH), •scheduling and training staff, •outstanding people skills, unlimited patience and the ability to work effectively with union employees, •inventory and food cost management, •ability to use the POS system efficiently, •great guest relations, •the ability to function independently, and still participate as a team member. The service will be excellent and genuine - FOH persona a must with staff, customers, vendors and clients are a daily ingredient of the job. Requirements: •Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some early evening and weekend shifts. •Formal culinary training or experience in scratch cooking kitchens, ideally in bakery production. •2 years of supervisory experience. •Experience working in an espresso operation. •Strong knowledge of culinary terminology and methods. •Some business background preferred. •Must be current on any and all state food handlers permits. •Serv-Safe certification ideal. •Excellent references.
