Bal tuthiroonal hayata dunyaa (But you prefer the life of this world,) Wal akhiratu khayrun wa abqaa (Yet the hereafter is better and eternal) (Surah Alaa) Mankind gives preference to this worldly life. What is this worldly life? That which you will leave. All these things you give value? They only have value because you give it. Of value, in reality, it has none. You see these gadgets, these cars, these houses? A new generation will come along and they will laugh at what you have. Because it is a fleeting life. When someone has something older than a smartphone, it gets ridicule... Whose to say smartphones wont be a thing of the past? The new cars will also become old. And the older the house gets, the more repair it requires. But even afterwards none of it lasts... And even if it did, will you last? Is then this fleeting life worth anything? Then seek the hereafter from the one who alone can give it to you. He prescribes for you to be good, and to be selfless with kith and the kin, and to honor the orphans, to feed the hungry, and to have piety. And to strive for the benefit of mankind and to uphold justice. Is it not a profitable trade?
