Balder, the Norse God of Light and Summer, was killed by his brother Hod, the Norse God of Darkness and Winter, with an arrow made from Mistletoe, the only plant who had not pledged never to harm him. Balder is the Sun God who will die for three days over the upcoming time of the Solstice and then return after Ragnorok to shine his light once more upon the world. Ragnorok symbolizes the cycle of life, the Day and the Night, Summer and Winter, Life and Death.
