Balling on the streets of JC was wicked!!! I dont care where you was playing at, Audubon, the park on Oak and Ocean, Garfield park, Arlington park, Van Nostrand, Baby Rucker, Hamilton park, the competition was fierce. And I played against some great players, and with as well. I had no problems playing with anybody. But when I was on a team, this will surprise some, but my 2 favorites were 1 was Robert Doughty, he was quick, smart, and had the heart of a tiger for real. A real heady player, and he knew his way around the court. He was much better on O, than many knew, he could score the rock too. 2. Al Mc coy. A real good athlete, he was great on D, and his motor never stopped, had a sweet jump shot, I was comfortable in the back court with him. I enjoyed playing with Rodney Fields, best passing guard I knew, wasnt super quick, but he had fast hands, a nice handle and could see the floor. Carl Ross, great shooting stroke, could get to the hole, could leap as well. He had long arms. He was tough to guard. One night in Hoboken Me him and 2 8th grade kids beat a team of 5 grown men in a league game on 4th street in Hoboken. Between the 2 of us we had like 80pts. Ron Williams was one of the most underrated players in the city. They said he couldnt handle, they said he couldnt shoot, but they didnt tell you is that At the end of the game, hed have 25-30 on you all post moves and mid range shots. He was my road dog. We were Batman and Robin.......Big A-D
