Ballinrobe Festival Duathlon Race Itinerary Sign on at Marrey bikes, Watson’s lane Ballinrobe, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm only. If you have pre entered just collect your timing chip, race and bike number this will be a different queue, if you haven’t pre entered then fill out the necessary forms at sign on. Bike racking The Transition area will be open from 5.30pm at the Abbey St car park (Claremorris rd), Remember leave your bike at the allotted number area, with your helmet and shoes if required. When parking your car, best to park at the back of Marrey bikes to avoid parking charges, follow the signs and the marshals as we want to keep the Transition area free from traffic. Remember to put your bike number on to the stem of your bike. Toilets There will be toilets facilities at Marrey bikes and also at Transition area look out for signs. The Race Race briefing, at 7.00pm at Start in Abbey St Race Start at 7.15pm sharp Note Race number is worn on the front of your jersey/signet only and timing chip is put around your ankle. Relay team only the runner wears the number and after the first run the runner passes over their ankle timing chip to the cyclist, once the cycle stage is complete the cyclist passes over the timing chip again to the runner, remember the timing chip has to be worn on the ankle by both runner and cyclist, please don’t impede other teams or individuals at transition when passing over chips. 4k Run, The first run will be a mass start with a horn blast, running down Bridge St, on to Creagh road before turning into the Bowers walk at 1.5k, the next 2.5k are along the river robe, follow the arrows back to Transition at Abbey St. At Transition: First put on helmet before you lift your bike, (change shoes if necessary) walk out to road side to Mount sign before getting on your bike. Keep your head up and watch out for traffic or hazards as you are still in the confines of the town. 18k Cycle: Follow roads arrows for 5k out towards Cloonagashel (Golf course) take next left 500m after the golf course signed posted Robeen, at 9k turn left at Robeen crossroads followed by another left 700m later, the last 10k home is dead straight all the way back to Abbey street, once back at T1 dismount at sign and walk into Transition and rack your bike at the same place where you took it from, remember to take of your helmet once your bike has been racked. Please obey the rules of the road and TI rules apply (No drafting on the cycle) 1k Run: Run out of Transition in the opposite direction you ran into it from first run, follow arrows till you get to the Town foot bridge, climb the steps cross over bridge and keep climbing till you get to upper main st turn left and keep on the foot path for last 200m to finish line outside Inch’s bar. Refreshments Some light snacks will be available at the finish line. BBQ and teas and coffee will be available at Inch’s bar during presentation. Overall results These will be available at the Inch’s bar ( finish line) from 9.30pm everyone is finished.
