Ballyduff has been nominated for the Pride of place Award and judges will be visiting Ballyduff on Wednesday 27th August 2014 The IPB Pride of Place competition is in its 12th year. Community groups are nominated by Kerry County Council in conjunction with the Kerry Community Awards to represent Co Kerry in this all island competition. The Pride of Place competition recognises the work being done to create communities that are vibrant, caring and good places to live. In nominating a community an opportunity is given to Kerry County Council to recognise the good work being carried out locally and the cooperation that exists. There are various categories including population categories and themed categories, one of which is a special category for “Community Innovation.” The Ballyduff Community of Excellence in promoting mental health awareness and well being has been chosen to represent Co Kerry in this category.
