Baltimore Soundstage, 124 Market Place, An intimate performance venue located downtown across from the Power Plant area. baltimoresoundstage JUST ANNOUNCED! 10/26 Fossil Collective The first thing you realize when listening to Fossil Collective is that this is a band that do things differently. Beautiful melodic music, with rich glorious harmonies and meticulous attention to detail, it is as much an aural statement as it is a pleasure to listen to. Layer upon layer of harmony mixed with delicate uplifting sounds may well remind you of other artists, be it Neil Young, Simon & Garfunkel or Midlake but this music is no mere imitation. 11/3 Watain With the release of their forthcoming full-length, The Wild Hunt, drawing near, Swedish black metallers WATAIN are now ready to announce their first North American tour in support of the album. Featuring IN SOLITUDE and TRIBULATION as support, this month-long headlining trek (aptly named “The Wild Hunt North America”) showcases some of Sweden’s finest metal from coast to coast. 11/6 Big D & The Kids Table Big D and the Kids Table frontman David McWane has said, "There are people who want to be in a band and then there are musicians." However once in while a group come along who decide to make music simply because they have no other choice—and those are the acts who tend to stick around. For the past fourteen years Big D And The Kids Table have proven that regardless of fame or poverty they will forever be addicted musicians—and their latest full-length Fluent In Stroll is the apex of their decade-and-a-half long career. 11/19 Hoodie Allen Make every word count. This has long been the mantra of Hoodie Allen, the New York based rapper and songwriter. With a penchant for candid storytelling and witty punchlines, Hoodie has always been an emcee who understood the importance of connecting with the audience through his lyrics. A purveyor of summertime anthems, Hoodie Allen has gained notable buzz on the internet for his unique genre-blending style, unafraid to sample from the unconventional norms of hip hop. His most recent work samples a diverse array of artists and sounds from UK pop singers (Marina & The Diamonds) to indie rock staples and upstarts (Death Cab for Cutie). The idiosyncrasy of the music is very fitting as Hoodie Allen is not your typical rapper. A self-described "college educated music nerd", Hoodie Allen embraces his individuality and promotes it as the main message in his hype-machine breakout "You Are Not A Robot" (2010). The future is bright for Hoodie Allen. He plans to continue providing the masses with feel-good music for a long time.
