Bamberg County Chamber 3rd Saturday South Fork of the Edisto River Canoe/Kayak Trip Saturday, July 19, 2014 (9:00 A.M.) Bobcat Landing (U.S. 301 north of Bamberg) Must provide your own boat & gear. Shuttle service provided by: Bamberg County Chamber For more information: call Jerry Bell (803) 300-1972 or email [email protected] The plan for July 19th is to paddle from Kill Kare Landing on the North Fork down to Zig Zag Landing. Friends of the Edistos website has this listed as 6 miles. I did this same trip last Saturday and it took me 4 1/2 hours. The section on the North Fork required one portage, one shallow sandbar and several downed trees that could be scooted across. Hopefully the water level will not drop and expose more logs and limbs. Based on phone calls and emails we may have between 15 and 20 paddlers making the trip. I hope to see you at Bobcat Landing at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
