Bamidele Ademola-Olateju. It wasnt until late last year I began to comment viciously on Nigeria situation. From educational system and standard, to the art of governance itself, no good news emanates from our land regarding the ability of our leaders to provide meaningful standard of living for the teaming population. I expressed my disgust at the way leaders get disconnected from the masses, on how various governments have failed us, and on how legislooters and all polithievians combined have milked the nation dry. Which each uncomely news I hear about how Nigeria and Nigerians are being subjected to ridicules and disrepute comes another strand of grey hair on my head. I keep wondering whether the dealers we call leaders are of human stock or of Neanderthals. The conclusion of who they really are often eludes me. I become frequently saddened and frustrated about how a nation so blessed to comfortably feed her citizens for even thousand years to come could be reduced to such a desolate and poor nation. Nigeria, a poor nation? It sounds absurd in the face of our natural endowments, both in human and other resources. But the truth is that Nigeria is rendered impoverished by the leaders who are accident of history. They are the worst enemies that ever confront our nation. The selfish and cruel bunch. Yes. They are the ones Nigeria unfortunately has at the helms of her destiny. The rogues, the resource bastardizers. They fill our governance land scape. Awon omo oju o rola ri, to n ja epo saya. They doomed our economy. They TarNished our image, they rubbished our pride. And the innocent citizens continue to suffer hunger and lack in the land that flows with God-given milk and honey. The situation becomes despondent. The horizon appears blurred. Peoples vision become impaired. Thinking faculties freeze. We have been robbed and killed and maimed by the government and politcians we elect to serve us, to protect our interest, and to ensure a better living conditions. Good old days they waste away, nay, they chase away. I just pray for the suffering masses to receive the mercy of God for a gift of good and God-fearing leaders who will once again bring back our carelessly lost glory.
