Ban removed from Kaum De Heere; Raj Kakra’s Movie set to be released on August 22 Sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the movie was cleared for screening in India only after the makers made some changes in it. This movie is said to be based on lives of Sikh martyrs Bhai Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh. Bhai Beant Singh and Satwant Singh were bodyguards of Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi and they had assassinated her on 31 October 1984 after she ordered attack on Darbar Sahib (Harmandar Sahib) Amritsar in June 1984, in which thousands of Sikhs were massacred by Indian army. The movie had recived good response abroad where it was released on March 14, 2014. It may be recalled that Indian firm censor board had also banned Punjabi movie “Sadda Haq” in 2011, which was based on post-1984 events in Punjab. The movie was cleared in early 2012 during a review by appellate tribunal, but it was again banned by various state governments taking a plea that the screening of the movie might cause law and order problems. But “Sadda Haq” was ultimately cleared by Indian supreme court after directing minor changes. sikhsiyasat.net/2014/07/02/ban-removed-from-kaum-de-heere-raj-kakras-movie-set-to-be-released-on-august-22/ https://facebook/kaumdeheerefilm https://youtube/watch?v=WW6OGUzEmJM
