Banda affects nine eastern districts TAPLEJUNG, OCT 28 - Normal life has been crippled in nine eastern districts on Monday due to the banda called by Federal Democratic State Council aligned Federal Limbuwan State Council. Long and short route vehicles have been stranded along the highways and transportation has come to a grinding halt due to the banda in Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung. The front called banda demanding to release its cadres who were arrested some months ago from Paanchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, among other places. The police had arrested over dozen cadres for enforcing banda and vandalism. Issuing a press statement, the front has demanded to release its cadres at the earliest and to postpone second elections to the Constituent Assembly to summon a round table talks.
