Bangladeshi Community Awards The annual Northampton Bangladeshi Association Awards were held at the University last weekend, and I was pleased to attend again, as I have in previous years. I gave out awards to GCSE students of Bangladeshi heritage who had achieved the highest grades in their school exams in various Northampton schools. This year the event took place without the much-loved and highly respected community leader, the late Akram Zaman, who sadly passed away earlier in the year. He was a generous and highly respected pillar of the community and is sadly missed.
