Bangladeshi kids’ wear exports up 25 per cent After knitwear and shirts, international kids’ wear sourcing from Bangladesh is increasing. The increased interest is being attributed to diverse products, competitive prices and international quality standards. According to Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) research cell, kids’ wear exports rose by 25 per cent in the first five months of the current fiscal year. Wal-Mart, JCPenny, Zara, Tesco, IKEA, Marks and Spencer, H&M, G-Star Raw, Uniqlo and Li&Fung are among the leading global fashion brands turning from India and China to Bangladesh for kids’ wear with new orders. Apparel manufacturers are exporting their products to traditional and non-traditional markets, including the US, Germany, the UK, France, Argentina, Brazil and South Africa.
