Banjo Babatunde I strongly feel one of the reason FG is not taking JOHESU STRIKE seriously is because they feel we dont have a strong voice the masses can hear! For. instance, when ASUU was on strike, it was all over the social media, television, radio and print media. it was as if the whole education system in Nigeria was on strike. when RATTAWU/JOURNALISTS threatened their strike government quickly solve the issue and strike called off. when our counterparts in the hospital doctors went on strike, it was all over the news, the whole country sees it that the hospitals were shutdown! Government quickly came into to case! Now the engine room, the major stakeholders, 95% of members of staff in health sector are on strike and you dont even hear of it daily on radio, television, newspapers, even social media, thank God for nursing world. I think it is time we all rise to the occasion! lets educate the populace that we are the major stakeholder in health sector, without us nothing can work in the hospital setting! lets use all resources that we have around us social media, talk to journalists around us, talk on TV/Radio while invited, talk to politicians, let it be known in the churches and mosque. spread the news and government will know that we are who we are! Nursing is a profession!!!
