Bankstown- About 6pm, Saturday 20/07, two men knocked on the front door of a house on Cairds Avenue. A man answered the door but did not recognise the men and refused them entry. Moments later the pair allegedly walked down the driveway of the home and confronted a 24-year-old man and his 53-year-old father threatening them with a pistol. The pair demanded a Mercedes 4WD and a Volkswagen Golf. They were handed the keys to both vehicles and drove from the scene. Police were contacted. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. Officers from Bankstown Local command blocked the street before arresting both men. The men, aged 26 and 28, were taken to Bankstown Police Station. The 26-year-old man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and driving whilst disqualified. The other man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon. Both men were refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court today where they were remanded in custody to re-appear in Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 24/07.
