Bappa Sinhas status Some of us are finding the exit poll numbers hard to believe. So, either we have our anti-Modi blinders on or the exit poll numbers are rigged. Assuming, just for the sake of argument that its the latter, the logical question is why rig exit polls. Rigging opinion polls makes sense since they can change voter behaviour but why exit polls. Here are the three reasons I could think of: 1. After rigging the opinion polls, if they present realistic exit polls then it will be too obvious. Now, they will come up with some fantastic explanation on May 16th, like oh the unthinkable happened, the Brahmins didnt vote for BJP or some such crap which most people will not bother to verify. 2. The Ambanis may want to recover some of their poll expenses by shorting the market while the dumb FIIs buy into the exit poll numbers. Might be an opportunity for people with some cash to spare . 3. Just saw this on FB, the opinion polls are to fool the masses, the exit polls are to fool the allies. Dont know whether it actually works but I guess it may get them to open some doors. Any other reasons anybody can think of. Or, are we just too afraid to face the reality that we now have a fascist state?
