Barbara Ward Smith comments... my husband was rushed into hospital a&e on the 27th november 2012 he was put on a trolley and saw doctors but 8 hours late he was still on that trolley and left alone, when i was sent home at lunch time to collect some belongings i got a call to rush back, he died on that trolley in a&e and they could not find him a bed so that he could have died with some comfort and dignity, i was appalled and my children will never forget that sight of how he died, no beds, no comfort and certainly no dignity thats are nhs now and it will only get worse unless we do something.
