Barbe High School’s fine arts survey class visited J.D. Clifton - TopicsExpress

Barbe High School’s fine arts survey class visited J.D. Clifton Elementary School to donate books that were entirely self-published by the Barbe students. Using funds and resources from the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy (SRCL) grant, the students worked in groups to develop the story lines and illustrations that focus around valuable lessons for children such as bullying and the importance of doing well in school. The Barbe students read a sampling of the books to the children before donating the books to the schools. In addition, a portion of the books will be donated to the local women’s shelter.
