Barbell back squat This is one way of working your leg muscles using a barbell. Key points: 1. Ensure your hands are evenly placed and slightly wider than shoulder width. 2. Bar rests across the back of your shoulders. 3. Feet are shoulder width apart, maintaining alignment with knees and hips. 4. Head up, chest up and out throughout movement whilst keeping your shoulder blades squeezed together. 5. Inhale while lowering the bar and exhale while pushing the bar up
