Barby the Boys Adventure Walk: Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for your generous donation to Canine Adventure! My new friend Barby The Boy got an exciting adventure walk today down by Reedy Creek and Belle Isle. Barby is a gray pit bull mix with a lot of personality. Hes a one-year-old pup whos very strong and playful, but can be really cuddly too. Barby was eager to jump in my car for the ride and explored the entire interior before we even got out of the parking lot. He very much wanted to ride in the front seat so I agreed that if he could sit still, Id let him stay up front. When we arrived at Reedy Creek, there was a train blocking our way so we waited around for a few minutes, Barby sniffing the bushes and marking his territory. We finally set out when the train passed, checking out the water and finding a wooded trail to hike down. Barby smelled everything from one side of the path to the other. Eventually, we found ourselves at Belle Isle. On Belle Isle, Barby saw lots of joggers and a few dogs to meet. We went out onto the flat rocks by the river and I tried getting him interested in fetching sticks or a ball but he didnt care to play with them. When I knelt down for a photo, he came over and snuggled into me so I gave him lots of butt scratches and chin rubs. What a sweetheart! On the way back, we met up with some of his dog friends from the shelter and he was a total Romeo! Those girls were in love with him. We got a few photos of them playing before heading back to the shelter. Thank you again, from Barby and me! He had a great time out in the woods and river today!
