Barcelona annoy Eberl with Marc Andre Ter Stegen rumours Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has revealed that he is growing increasingly annoyed with the claims that prize asset Marc Andre ter Stegen is leaving to join Barcelona. The young goalkeeper is held in high regard by the Barca management, who are looking at their list of possibilities to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes. Valdes revealed last season that he would not be signing a contract extension with the club, having spent his entire professional career with the club, and would be leaving when it expires in 2014 for pastures new. This led to claims that the Blaugrana would try and cash in on him in the summer transfer window, but the Spain international is adamant that he will see out his current deal with the club. This has given Barca more time to search for a replacement, with Liverpool’s Pepe Reina high on their wishlist, and has now been joined by Ter Stegen, a fact that grates with Eberl. Speaking to German publication Kicker, Eberl said, “He will play for Gladbach next season, Marc has declared that himself, and his agent did so as well. It doesn’t get more clear than that. I am very annoyed by these ongoing speculations.” “Ter Stegen is one of the most talented goalkeepers on the continent, so of course big clubs are interested in signing him.” The 21-year-old has been part of Die Fohlen’s senior side for the past two years, and last season was the only player in the squad to play all 34 Bundesliga I.S.F ANDREW
