Barcelona have been linked with a move for Manchester - TopicsExpress

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata as a possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas. Barcelona will reportedly not stand in Fabregas way if he decides to leave the Nou Camp this summer with new head coach Luis Enrique keen on overhauling the squad after a disappointing season which yielded no trophies. Man United have been linked with a move for Fabregas, as they were last summer, after the recent appointment of Louis van Gaal and a reported transfer budget in the region of £200 million in order to strengthen the squad this summer. Fabregas has also been linked with a return to Arsenal, who hold a buy- back clause in the deal that took the former Gunners captain to Barcelona. With the 27-year-old allowed to leave, Barca have looked at possible options to replace the midfielder this summer and have been linked with Man Uniteds Mata in Spanish newspaper AS. Mata only joined Man United from Chelsea for a £37.1 million in January and, after a relatively slow start, had started to show why the club felt he was worth the hefty fee, which has coincided with the midfielder playing in his preferred number 10 role. However, both Barca have also been linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke in Catalan newspaper Sport, which has strong links to the club.
