Barcelona preparing €25m move for Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic =============== =============== ====== Barcelona have joined Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Sevilla captain, Ivan Rakitic, but the Blaugrana are prepared to offer upwards of €25 million, which is, at this point, the closest club has come to his €40 million release clause. Barcelona in the midst of a revolution as they refuse to suffer through another trophy-less season and according to Catalan news papper, Barcelona are willing to pay top money for the Croatian international midfielder. Rakitic seemed to have a deal in place with Atletico Madrid, but the intervention of Real Madrid put things on hold and opened the door for Barcelona to throw their hat in the ring, but Rakitic’s arrival at the Camp Nou would depend on the loan or sale of several midfielders. However, Real Madrid have not given up their pursuit, as Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez recently admitted in regards to the statement that Rakitic was born to play for Real Madrid, “Well, I want players who can win the Balón d’Or.” It remains to be seen how things will shake out in an already busy summer for Barcelona, as the arrival of Rakitic and a rumoured move for Atletico Madrid’s Koke would almost certainly leave no place for Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez or Pedro, who are already rumoured to be on the list of departures, in addition to returning midfielders; Rafinha and Gerard Deulofeu
