Barclays Premier League team of the week. GK – David De Gea ( Manchester United) De Gea produced one of the best saves you are ever going to see as United secured a vital win away at Sunderland. The Spaniard was commanding throughout and has been one of the club’s only consistent players so far this season. RB – Sascha Riether ( Fulham) The Fulham defender makes the team of the week for a decent performance as Fulham edged out Stoke 1-0. He produced two great clearances off the line which allowed his team to retain their clean sheet, grabbing a late winner through Darren Bent. CB – Winston Reid ( West Ham United) Reid was commanding in defence against Tottenham and he showed great awareness to pounce for his goal, after his first effort was blocked by one of his teammates. It was a far more mature performance than many may have been expecting. CB – Curtis Davies (Hull City) The Hull City centre back had a fantastic game against Aston Villa as he kept Libor Kozak quiet throughout. Nearly every single ball that was played into Kozak saw Davies all over him like a rash, winning headers and poking a foot out to make interceptions. LB – Kieran Gibbs ( Arsenal) Kieran Gibbs is turning into serious competition for Leighton Baines and Ashley Cole. He’s unfortunate those two players have been so consistent for so long because he’s been superb this season. Every part of his game looked solid as Arsenal drew 1-1 at West Brom. RM – Loic Remy ( Newcastle United) Remy is a forward but we had to find a place for him somewhere. He’s bagged five goals in four games and was in very good form against Cardiff City, producing an early burst of form in the match which saw him secure what turned out to be a vital brace. CM – Yaya Toure ( Manchester City) Looked much more like the player we know he can be in the win against Everton. He was commanding, carried a presence at both ends of the pitch and didn’t look as exposed as he did in the Champions League match against Bayern Munich. CM – Claudio Yacob ( West Brom) Yacob was one of the best players on the pitch as the Baggiestook on Arsenal. He was everywhere, decisive in defence and offering an extra threat in attack as he popped up with a vital goal. LM – Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United) Januzaj saved Manchester United at Sunderland. He was one of the best players on the pitch, always looking like he was going to make something happen when he got on the ball. Both of his goals were great strikes and we’ll certainly be seeing more of this guy over the coming weeks. ST – Luis Suarez ( Liverpool) Suarez looks as though he’s never been out of the Liverpool team. Crystal Palace couldn’t handle him as he put together decisive attacking runs, showed great movement and produced some of his textbook finishing. ST – Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) Sturridge is an odds on certainty to lead England’s attack this Friday and next Tuesday after another superb performance for Liverpool. He grabbed a goal to keep his good goalscoring form going and his understanding and movement in relation to Suarez was something Palace never came to terms with
