Bare with me on the following.. Its important! A few weeks ago we went to Pearl Jam @ Fed Ex Forum.. You know what they have there?? An entire team of people that run the place.. We were behind the scenes early in the day with the I.T. guys.. Some of which get paid a crap-ton of $$ to be there EVERYDAY all day long.. 12 months a year to plan & execute events and guess what... Sometimes the lights still go out.. (I.E. The Super Bowl in MY dome)... I said this to say: This weekend I went to 2 events that NO ONE got paid to do and I had a ball! Plano PTO (a lot of my friends) rocked that sucker! And The Monster Dash in a new venue.. (which as we all know people love change-not so much) We had some stuff.. But guess what?? People did their best.. And at the end of the day... Most every kid I know was smiling and had fun.. Which is sorta the most important thing -(after the $ raising of course).. So next time youre tempted to complain heres a lil diddy to remember... Dont em..Dont tell em.. You aint even gotta tell em... That said... If you have something to say nicely that needs to be done.. Bc youre a good... kind person that wants to offer a solution, feed back is important!! Im sure both the PTO & The Dash Team would love some honest convo... Especially if you are part of the solution.. Helpers are always appreciated! Ps... Neither of these events are mine.. I come the last week or so of the dash and drive Benjie crazy & bring a thing or 2 from home.. So frankly I have NO IDEA the time invested in this great cause... But I was on a PTO board as a teacher for 3 years and it was HARD... And what I remember most??? The complaints bc oddly most people dont give ya a at-a-girl which is strange to me!! Be an at-a-girl person in life.. I promise you will be happier!!! Jason Martin
