Bark for Life needs an Event Logistics volunteer as well as a Team Recruiter volunteer! This event is a fundraising walk for dogs and their owners to celebrate the lives of those who survived cancer, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease. More than just a walk, Bark For Life is an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships. Event Logistics volunteer duties: Leadership • work with the committee and staff partner to determine requirements for equipment, materials, supplies, and site layouts Relationship Management • oversee logistics volunteers throughout event • develop event logistics schedule, documenting responsibilities and timing Event Oversight • coordinate pickup and delivery of all materials prior to, during and after event • identify and coordinate supply requirements for each area of event including packing • coordinate set up and take down of all on site equipment and supplies • submit final event report to staff partner Team Recruiter volunteer duties: Community Engagement • Leverage existing networks and contacts and seek out new ones to identify leads for team recruitment • Identify new leads for team recruitment creating opportunities to promote Bark For Life in your community • Help implement team recruitment strategy, including community mapping, cold calls, presentations and follow-up Relationship Management • Ensure effective communications and stewardship of registered and potential teams • Motivate teams to fundraise by assisting team to set and achieve fundraising goals • Steward teams on event day by greeting them when they arrive at the event and “working the track” throughout the event • Develop a post event stewardship plan for all teams and participants Contact: Trueman Macdonald 780 437 8402 [email protected] convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=18079&pg=entry#.U7v4AMj4BMs
