Barker: Bafana can build around Themba Zwane. Clive Barker waxed lyrical over Themba Zwane again after the midfielder won the Man of the Match award in Mpumalanga Black Aces 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirate. Barker even suggested that national coach Gordon Igesund should consider Zwane for Bafana Bafana after another impressive display from the 24-year-old. You saw a bit of Doctor Khumalo tonight, Shoes Moshoeu, you saw a bit of Lawrence Chelin … hes a terrific player. I sing his praises every time he plays because every time he plays, he excites me, beamed Barker. I think if we can build things around him – Im not telling Gordon [Igesund] how to do it because hes been in the game as long as I have … no, I think Ive been a lot more than he has – but I just think he was classy, classy, added the 69-year-old coach. Zane Moosa would have loved him, he loves singing his praises, he always talks a lot of nonsense, with his hair … Im sure he would have appreciated the skill. On the match, Barker added: Wonderful game. Both sided should be credited for the way they tried to have a go, it must have been a lot of saves from both goalkeepers. And all credit to Pirates, theyve had a hell of a year, theyve set the foundation of what we expect in our League and I think they really came out with a terrific game, they really played well. Terrific game all-round, and Im delighted with a point.
