Barry Island, probably late 1920s Front left: my mother, Cissie Palmer, nee Matthews, eventually lived in Mayfield Avenue. Served ice cream sundaes in the Trico in the 30s. Front right: her sister, Peggy Jones, nee Matthews, eventually lived in prefab near Heol Trelai, Ely. Standing: my grandparents, Archibald & Maud Matthews.He was christened Doctor Archibald Kitt-Matthews ... now thats what I call career planning! Centre deckchair (with the Diddymen hat!): my great-grandmother Mrs Griffin. Left & right deckchairs: my great aunts Jenny (aka Ginny) and Doris.
