Barry is doing so well since getting out of surgery. Unlike what we were originally told, he was sent to a post-surgical unit rather than an intensive care unit because his vitals were stable throughout the whole surgery and continued to remain stable for the 10 hours he was in recovery. Aside from being uncomfortable from the 4 small incisions that were made in his abdomen, the only pain he has right now from the surgery is from the two I.V. lines and central line in his chest. This is great news!! His surgeon, endocrinologist and their teams made their rounds very early this morning and are amazed at how well he responded to this surgery. They are confident that he should be able to go home tomorrow. What a blessing!! I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the texts, calls, Facebook messages and emails I received yesterday. It was so comforting sitting and reading through all of the messages and knowing that so many people were praying for Barry. When I saw Barry in recovery I showed him the messages and he was so touched. He got very emotional thinking about all of our friends and family that were praying for him. Thank you all so very much!! As far as the next step, the surgeon believes he will be able to clear Barry for the herniated disc surgery in around 2-3 weeks provided his vitals stay stable. He is looking forward to this next step and finally getting out of pain, but he feels so thankful and blessed that the tumor was found so that the disc surgery could be performed safely. Please continue the prayers as the road to full recovery is far from over but Barry is one step closer and we are so grateful for that! With love and gratitude, Sherryl
