Bars Management Intern 1 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT Responsible to: Bars and Catering Operations Manager £13,548 Pro rata (equivalent to £7.44 per hour) + Holiday Pay Hours: 1280 hours across 32 weeks of term time September – May Role Description To assist the management team to ensure the effective operation of the bars within Source and 53 Degrees. SPECIFIC DUTIES Operational • To assist the management team to ensure all areas within the bars are run in an orderly & disciplined manner in accordance with the conditions of the licensing, UCLan SU policy & Health & Safety requirements. • To undertake opening or closing shifts and be a key holder for a limited number of shifts. • To ensure that stock is rotated properly • To be responsible for the safe and secure storage of all goods, including stock, in the building • To be responsible for the safe, hygienic & efficient cellar management • To be responsible for the day to day Hygienic maintenance of all bars equipment in the bars • To ensure Health & safety legislation, in particular to food hygiene (HACCP), is adhered to at all times. • To contribute ideas on menu design & pricing recommendations in liaison with the management team. Finances and Resources • To be responsible for ensuring compliance with UCLAN SU financial procedures including stock & cash control. • Be responsible for ensuring the proper and safe operation of equipment by staff whilst. • Be responsible for the maintenance and care of equipment, fixtures and fittings and fabric of the premises. Colleagues To have responsibility for the effective & efficient management of staff working within Source and 53 Degrees, ensuring the staff work as an effective team. To have an active role in the recruitment, selection, induction and on-going appraisal of colleagues within Source and 53 Degrees. To actively promote an open communication process with all colleagues To aid the development of a customer service focused culture To maintain proper records & management information Customer Care • To offer the highest possible quality catering service through attention to detail, excellent presentation & high quality preparation • To ensure all areas are clean & tidy General To deputise for any of the team within Bars & Catering when the organisation or situation demands it, commensurate with the post To ensure all areas comply with relevant legislative provisions including Health & Safety, Health & Hygiene and licensing law All work to be done in line with Union constitution, policies & procedures To undertake other duties appropriate for the grade and responsibilities of the post that may from time to time be reasonably requested which may include evening & weekend working Partners: Our customers External companies & organisations UCLAN SU Officers and staff University departments and staff To request an application pack please email [email protected] Closing date Midday 15th August Please return completed application packs to [email protected]
