Baseball inks 12 standouts to National Letters of Intent RENO, Nev. – The Nevada baseball team signed 12 players to National Letters of Intent in head coach Jay Johnson’s second signing class at Nevada. The Wolf Pack’s 2015 signing class consists of six to-be freshmen and six junior college transfers. Nevada has signed Ruben Cardenas (Bishop Alemany HS), Keone Cabinian (College of San Mateo), Trevor Charpie (Saddlebrook College), Jonah Davis (Sir Francis Parker HS), Kaleb Foster (Douglas HS), Kevin Ginkel (Southwestern College), Mitchell Hayes (Great Oaks HS), Cooper Krug (Reno HS), Anthony Martine (College of Southern Nevada), Miles Mastrobuoni (College of San Mateo), Ty Pennington (Howard Junior College) and Brandon Ponticelli (Bishop Alemany HS) to NLIs. The class consists of four right-handed pitchers, two two-way players, two outfielders, two infielders and one left-handed pitcher. “We are very excited about this class, especially as they continue to develop,” said head coach Jay Johnson, who’s first signing class at Nevada was recognized by Collegiate Baseball. “We believe they will add to our program and continue to build on the foundation we are setting. It is a group that will add to the ability level and chemistry within our culture.
