Based on overwhelming feedback from all of you, the Coalitions first official project is to immediately pursue aggressive action in Indian River County and its City Governments to ban and/or restrict the commercial sale of dogs and cats. Due to the recent public information releases of euthanasia statistics at the Humane Society of Vero Beach, we have no choice but to try everything to reduce their kill numbers, with or without their help. We are in the process of retaining an attorney to guide us through this process and we will be in contact with other local governments who have successfully passed bans or restrictive legislation.
