Basic Vanilla Cake What you will need: 100g salted butter at room temperature 100g caster sugar 2 medium to large eggs 100g self-raising flour 1tsp vanilla extract method: 1 prepare the cake mould by buttering the inside and line with grease paper 2 preheat the oven at 180 degrees 3 crack the eggs and add the vanilla extract 4 in a large bowl or electric mixer: cream butter and sugar until fluffy 5 the mixture will turn light in colour 6 beat in about 1/3 of the eggs 7 add half of the flour 8 again with another 1/3 of the eggs 9 then the rest of the flour 10 and the rest of the eggs 11Tip: do not over beat the mixture 12 put the cake batter into the prepared mould 13 bake for 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
