Basically climate change will make Northern Australia even harder to inhabit. Long term investment in infrastructure needs to happen in the coastal south, maybe even Tasmania (remember them?). Basing long term planning on short term political agendas should be an offence with no statute of limitation. If they are after a nation building project, how about slowing desertification of the inhabitable bits of Oz?
