Basilan - The Neglected Region in the Philippines It is now 2014 and with all the civilized techniques available to us to provide community solutions that will promote peace and harmony, every government has failed in containing this region with programs that educates the people of this area to peaceful existence. Hatred is what is most common with both sides of the conflict that has lasted decades with so many death that left families in mourning their love ones for totally unnecessary death at times beyond civilized comprehension. This region has been trademarked and infiltrated as a terrorist nesting place but it is the children and parents that live in this place that suffer the most with hatred as part of their existence depending who they are affiliated with. The solution is not easy but retaliation must be an action to be avoided but to introduce reforms that educates the young people how and why to transposed their anger and passion into an alternative activities. Sports is one that is useful especially team sports to developed their anger into something worthy of achieving goals. It is the males that are developed aggressively as the females do not show the same aggressive impressions in our society. This way we can bring a new generation with less hatred embedded in their existence but their sport mindedness can eventually bring peace and harmony in the future. Especially if this is supplemented with proper career education program that can transposed the youth to professional careers the existence of violence in this region will eventually reduce and diminish. Wish this region a happy peaceful existence for the future.
