Basveshwarnagar Dosa Corner (8th Main Road, 3rd Phase, Basaveshwaranagar, Bengalore - 79) - There is only one word which can describe the experience with the Dosas at this place: Epic. This place is definitely one of those hidden treasures of Bangalore. I would strongly recommend this place if you are a Dosa fanatic, and dont mind travelling and waiting for exemplary food in a no frills environment. Place your order by paying up front with the manager at the desk and he will tell you your token number. After the long wait (waited for about 25 minutes on a Sunday morning at 9:30), you will see them shouting out your token number if you are not around the oven waiting to seize your order. This Dosa Corner does not have a place to sit. If you are looking to eat there (thats how it has to be done, as the Dosas loose their taste once they turn cold and do not give you that original taste even if reheated), you will have to stand and eat, if you are lucky you might find some place for your plate on the steel table/stand. Coming to the real deal, you get about 5 varities of Dosas here and thats the whole menu. The Benne Masala dosas are like the Davagere benne dosas with a Banglorian touch to them, courtesy the red chutney smeared on the inside. As excepted, the Dosa melted as soon as it was into my mouth. Certainly one of the best benne dosas I have had and the Banglorian touch did the trick. The Open Dosa is certainly the best one at this place. The Chutney which was either the gun powder chutney or the ones served in North Karnataka. before the sprinkling there the red chutney was smeared. It was so full of flavour that you might thank god for creating something as wonderful as this. The Set Dosa was so soft that it felt like I was lifiting up some thick Malai (Cream) when I first tried to tear a piece. Not kidding, it was the softest Dosa I have ever had! The chutney was not too watery nor was too thick. It was kinda eclipsed by the delightful taste of the Dosas. The wood fired oven added to the taste I guess, as the heat is more slow and uniform in this. Getting here: Can be quite a task if you dont know this side of the town well. Once you get onto 8th main Road, 3rd Phase of Basveshwarnagar, you can ask any localite for the Benne Dosae place and they will certainly be able to guide you. Heres the map link: https://google/maps/place/Davangere+Benne+Dosa/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x3bae3d95bea30269:0x8e7d0228a215b322?gl=IN&hl=en Meal for two: 60-70 bucks. Timings: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Parking: It is situated in a residential area where the roads are not too broad. Parking for 2 wheelers shouldnt be a problem. 4 wheelers, you might have to scout a little. #Dosa #bestofbangalore
