Battle For Manila 70th year 1945-2015 On February 3,kindly remember those who fell in the Battle for Manila during the Liberation that lasted till March 3,1945 ,a battle that took one month. It will be the 70th anniversary this year and I encourage you to visit places in Manila and surrounding towns ,particular places where many were massacred and died. Ask your parents and grandparents regarding their experiences if ever and any relatives who died in the crossfire. Manila was levelled to the ground, once one of the most beautiful cities in Asia dubbed as Pearl of the Orient, went into ashes 70 years ago. An estimated 100,000 Filipino civilians perished in the crossfire of 2 empires ,Japan and The United States. A war which is not of our own making and yet chose us to be their goddamn battlefield. Manila is the second most destructed city in the world after Warsaw in Poland during World War II. So much are written about the European War and even Malaya,Singapore and China. How about the Filipino experience? Damn them as if they were the only ones who suffered,we Filipinos suffered even more!!! This book is one of my rare collection. Im reading it again now and by February ,I shall visit places again for a selfie tour, heheh Ever since its my hobby and past time to check maps of battle plans and places where armies encamped and dates and the divisions down to platoons and their commanders,I will discuss some soon
