Battle of the Books Winners Announced Royall Elementary won first place at the recent Florence District One Battle of the Books competition. Team members are Sarah McCown (captain), Ivan Morris, Lane Ward, Antonaye Lawson- Woollery, Lane Josey, Rachel Fitzkee, Kaleigh-Ann Rutan and Powers Rogers. Coaches are Susan Jenkins and Jane Shurman, assistant. First-time competitors Timrod Elementary students won second place. Coaches are Kelli Becote, assistants Lakisha Williams and Dawn Walker. Briggs, Dewey Carter, North Vista and Moore Intermediate also competed this year.
