BattleLax Boys Summer Wrap-up and Future Plans First, I would like to say thank you to all the player and parents that participated in the BattleLax Summer 2013 program. I know participating in these programs is a huge commitment of both time and money. Hopefully, the players improved as a result of playing this summer and most importantly that they had fun. We have a great group of players and parents! I know I had blast spending my weekends in “tent cities” at tournaments and getting to know you all better. Second, I would like to thank our coaches. From High School Elite to U9 we had a great group of coaches this summer! I know I am bias, but I would rate the level of coaching I saw this summer higher than any other area travel program in Northern Virginia. Our coaches understand the game of lacrosse, but more importantly they are gifted in teaching that knowledge to the boys. Future Plans: We are currently working on finalizing plans for the fall and winter specifically and the whole 2013 -2014 season in general. We hope to have registration open in the next week and a full description of the plans on our website. We are currently finalizing the tournament details and costs. For now here are a few things to expect: - Tryouts will be on 2 or 3 Sunday’s in September. - We will have practices throughout October. However, fall sports such as football will be expected to take priority. Our fall program is designed as best as possible to be a compliment to football and not to compete with it. - Teams will play 2 or 3 tournaments during the first 3 weekends of November. - We will continue to keep some of these teams together over the winter by playing in the TripleEdge Winter league from December to February. This will not be required and I know some of you may be expected to play winter for your high school teams. - We will attempt to schedule some local games/scrimmages against other local offseason programs in our area.
