Bauchi Immigration Service Deports 77 Foreigners In view of the security situation bedevilling North-eastern part of the country, the Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has repatriated 77 foreigners residing in the state without valid documents. Speaking to newsmen yesterday while parading the affected persons, the state Comptroller Nigeria Immigration, Mr. Ejukwule Usman, said foreigners were apprehended in various locations across the state metropolis. According to Ejukwule “the affected persons ranging from Cameroonians, Chadians and Niger Republic were arrested while conducting illegitimate business in the state. In view of the security situation bedeviling the country, particularly the North-east region, it has become imperative for Immigration service to take measures that will ensure the protection of lives and properties.” The Comptroller said that the exercise embarked upon by the immigration service was also to sanitise the state of criminal activities and pave way for the smooth conduct of the 2015 general elections. Ejukwule, who reaffirmed the readiness of the command to ensure a crime free environment in the state, called on countries desiring to reside in Nigeria to ensure that they process and obtain genuine documents before coming into the country. thisdaylive
