Bauchi govt not showing concern for people’s plight —APC aspirant 21 Oct. 2014 By: Saliu Gbadamosi-Bauchi AN All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Bauchi State, Alhaji Nuhu Gidado, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state as a heartless government which does not show concern to the plight of the people of the state. Gidado stated this on Monday, while briefing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Bauchi shortly after declaring his intention to vie for the governorship position in the state on the platform of the APC. He said the state was currently under a leadership that had failed to identify the pivot points of the state’s progress. He added that the ruling party in the state had also failed to identify the needs of the state and its people, saying that when the people brought the current leadership of the state to power in 2007, they did so with high expectations. “In our political devisiveness, we mandated this leadership upon ourselves in 2007, but it metamorphosed into a ‘hypocritical lordship’ without our consent. “It was a very sad story that the Talakawas fought for change and they earned a victory full of hope and zeal but that change was snatched again overnight,” Gidado said. He pointed out that the people of the state had grown ever more disillusioned, declaring that, “many might have lost hope and very many of us are still weary from the ever growing level of official neglect, corruption with utter impunity which have almost sent the state into bankruptcy and to even more scary national deterioration of our homeland security.” tribune.ng/news/news-headlines/item/19193-bauchi-govt-not-showing-concern-for-people-s-plight-apc-aspirant
