Bayan salutes the courageous and just struggle of the survivors of Yolanda/Haiyan as they stage mass protest actions to mark the first anniversary of the storm. We join their protests today and tomorrow in Tacloban, Northern Iloilo, Aklan, Roxas and in Metro Manila. The Aquino regime is scared of the rising wave of protests against governments criminal neglect of the storm victims. The regime has come up with all sorts of excuses for Aquino not going to Tacloban on Nov.8, including the upcoming APEC meet. In truth, the President does not want to face the peoples outrage. Let the world know that one year after Haiyan, the survivors are fighting for their rights, welfare and dignity against a corrupt and hopelessly inept government. We slaute the farmers and fisherfolk from Basey, Samar who held a fluvial protest today. We salute the UP Tacloban students who walked out of their classes in protest of Aquinos neglect.
