Bayern Munich v Manchester United : The Zambian Inspiration: Zambia secures African Cup of Nations triumph just miles from scene of plane crash that killed 25 members of national team:Zambias players visited the site close to where 18 Chipolopolo players died in a plane crash in 1993. After arriving in Gabon for Sundays Africa Cup of Nations final, they visited a beach where a flight carrying the squad crashed 500m offshore. The plane was en route to a World Cup qualifier in Senegal and the accident killed all 30 people on board. The players laid flowers, accompanied by coach Herve Renard and former international Kalusha Bwalya.Manchester Uniteds players paid their respects to victims of the 1958 Munich air disaster ahead of their Champions League match with Bayern Munich. Survivor Sir Bobby Charlton led the party as they laid tributes at a memorial in the city to the disaster.
