The Modern day David Primarily David is the character in the Bible that holds value to music and he has used music as weapon that God told him to use to conquer wars and battles. David is the author or composers of the most Psalms in the bible and his value of music was significant to the children of Israel. In our clap and tap industry we have our Modern day David that God wants them to rise in order to conquer the world for it to come to Christ. Paul writes to the Ephesians that the war we are fighting is not of flesh and blood but is war against principalities and the work of Darkness. David managed to conquer the battle by singing hymn with his army. Music is one of the important ministries in the body of Christ as God is pleased with song and psalms that people make to glorify his Holy name. The role of musicians is just important as that of the Pastors and Bishops of the church. God want to raise the people who will be like David, who will write and sing music for the glory of God. Clap and tapers often take their roles as musicians very light not understanding the power they have in God’s Kingdom. “These are the last words of David: The inspired utterance of David son of Jesse, the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High, the man anointed by the God of Jacob, the hero of Israels songs:”(2 Samuel23:1). David showed his love and compassion to the Lord expressing himself through music. David had his down fall as man but one thing certain is that he remained loyal to God and kept his Commands that made it easy for him to write psalms that even the modern day society is using to worship the only true God. Bapostola, as I conclude, we are “The Modern day David”. We are able to compose song from the start that has sound musical abilities but the question is, Is this for Glory of God? The only way to do that is to accept Christ as our Lord and saviour and remain faithful to his words. The success in your choir depends on God. As you are reading this you are thinking I am a good singer but I need God to take control and use me as the vessel of his word. Just pray to God and tell him that you surrender all you allow him to be the director of your musical career from today. After this prayer god will grant you blessing of being the “The modern day David” who will write music and sing songs to worship God because he alone deserves the glory, on Earth and in heaven.
