Be A Hard Target This is the motto of the Jim Wagner Reality-Based Personal Protection system. This motto is printed on the back of our t-shirts, on the outlines, and every single student going through my courses knows it. To be a hard target means to be inaccessable, unpredictable, and aware of ones surroundings at all times (situational awareness). Of course, the opposite is how most people live: accessable (a criminal can get to them easily), predictable (they have a routine easy to figure out upon observation), and unaware of their surroundings (they dont perceive predetors). The majority of people are soft targets. The motto is not a suggestion, but it is a state of being, a way of life.
