Be Faithful For Promotion Luke 16:10 - He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much. The Lord wants to promote you. Did you know that? Yes, Hes looking to promote each person, and its so easy to receive it. How? you may ask. Im no spiritual genius, Im not good enough, and I dont pray enough. No, you simply have to be faithful to the Lord in whatever youre doing for Him and in whatever you believe Hes called you to do. Faithfulness is one of the most important qualities the Lord looks for when He wants to promote you, and Hes looking for people who will continue to do what they are called to do, even if it seems like something useless or trivial. The Lord doesnt usually require you to become an instant success story and go from being unknown to travelling round preaching everywhere. You will usually start off slowly and pretty much out of the way at times, just doing little things for the Lord and doing them consistently and diligently. Sometimes you may not have any definite role to fulfill in the place where you fellowship. You may not be a worship leader or a youth leader or assistant pastor. You may be doing something seemingly unimportant which others may not see. Are you a Sunday School teacher? Be faithful in your ministry and the Lord may promote you to a fully fledged teaching ministry. Are you a person who prays and cares for those who are hurting? As you remain faithful to this ministry you could be a pastor in the making. Do you have a burden and a yearning for the lost and unsaved? You could be an evangelist in the making. Think about David, the simple, humble shepherd boy who daily kept his fathers sheep. He led them out to the rivers to drink and was out in the heat and the cold day in and day out. Nobody even noticed him and hardly anyone even thought of him as worth anything. Yet all the time that he was outside tending those sheep, his heart was looking to the Lord and praising Him and worshipping Him. He found out how precious the Lord was by the way He created nature and when he looked at the stars in the sky. And what happened to little insignificant David? He found such favor with the Lord in his humble attitude and the fact that he did everything for His glory and to the best of his ability, which He made sure David was promoted to King of Israel. The seemingly unimportant people are often the ones the Lord takes and makes something beautiful out of. He does indeed take the weak and foolish things of the earth to confound the wise. So, are you sitting doing nothing much significant spiritually? Are you doing something you feel is not worth anything and youre itching to get going with something more positive and edifying to others in the body? Keep your heart humble before the Lord and do whatever you do faithfully. Then look up and get excited, because suddenly you will be raised to more important functions and much more promotion.
