Be Forgiving => Behold, the LORDs hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between u&your God,&your sins have hid his face from u,that he will not hear. - Isaiah 59:1-2. I consider unforgiveness as a capital sin, because other sins thrive on it. It is a major road block to your access in prayer. When Jesus taught on how to pray,He said we can only expect God to forgive us to d level that we forgive others (Luke 11:4; Mark 11:25-26). God will only forgive your sins after uve forgiven others. Jesus makes d teaching on forgiveness even clearer with His parable in Mattew 18:21-35,where d one who was earlier forgiven but refused to forgive someone else who had offended him was delivered to d tormentors. In d same way, many Christians are being tormented in their health, family, business, career, finance, etc.simply because they have refused to let go of those who have offended them. No matter how grievous d offence or painful d abuse,it is in your own interest to forgive d offender. Since we are growing on to perfection,we will always need Gods forgiveness,so d onus is on us to forgive others. David knew this secret of forgiveness so well. In fact,it was a reason for his triumphs. Despite Sauls aggression&maltreatment,David continued to call him father&even refused to kill him when he had d opportunity to do so. It is not surprising then that although David committed very grievous errors,God still forgave&restored him. To be forgiving is to love, and love covers all sins (Prov.10:12). Forgiveness was d last thing Jesus demonstrated on d cross (Luke 23:34). Let this also be your attitude, whether d offender is sober&apologetic or not. Take grace to reign on earth,in Jesus Name!
